What's the crack with Cridling?

Updated: Mar 2, 2023

Hello, and welcome to our blog, the space where we get to speak directly to you. The space where we get to explore Cridling mead kombucha further and investigate What really is the Crack with Cridling!

Why is Cridling so good for you? It's a question we get asked often. Well, firstly because it's a fermented drink and research has proven just how good fermented products can be for our guts and therefore our bodies. In fact, it is recognised that at least 40% of the UK population suffer from at least one symptom of a digestive problem at any one time according to the findings of the YouGov survey (n=2287). Increasing research is proving that gut health directly affects the health of our entire bodies including nervous system and brain.

Cridling is a totally natural drink, nothing artificial whatsoever. The ingredients are pure, natural honey, ethically sourced green tea and real fruit. This is all fermented with a mother culture, often referred to as a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast. During the fermentation process Lactic Acid Bacteria is naturally developed which is amazing stuff for your gut microbiota. Research suggests that Lactic Acid Bacteria is great for helping you extract more nutrition from your food, control of intestinal infections, improved digestion of lactose. It has also been shown to control some types of cancer and control serum cholesterol levels. (Check out the journal article Health and Nutritional benefits from lactic acid bacteria by Stanley E. Gililand). It is pre-biotic and pro-biotic. It also contains natural antioxidants, vitamins and of course the health benefits of honey. Honey is known for it's anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-fungal and antibiotic properties. As all the sugars in the honey are used up in the fermentation process, Cridling is naturally very low calorie with Lemon & Ginger having 13 kcals per 100ml.

Together this all produces something of a mead crossed with kombucha and an absolutely beautiful drink. Go on, check out our product pages and try it for yourself!
